Wondering very scared!

i moved in with my partner of 7 yrs on august of 2008 we recently split up.. on January 9th of this year i came to find out i was pregnant after christmas so therefore i had an abortion on the 13th of january i was six weeks couple of weeks later i started having irritation on my vagina and it hurts when i pee.. so i grabbed a mirror to see what i had down there and it looked like red sores so i typed in sores in vagina in google OMG come to find out Herpes!!! I cryed and am very scared I never thought he cheated on me!! I am very freaked out i have an appointment comming up Last time i had sex with him was after christmas.. So i been wondering if any one knows how long does it take to have a breakout when they get infected with herpes? how can i cope with this? My gut feeling tells me i do have Herpes i have yet all the symptoms.... :(
