My ex boyfriend gave me herpes

I dated this guy for 2 and a half years. I love him to death and trusted him. Towards the end of our relationship I had a feeling he was cheating. One day we were showering together and I saw a red blister on his penis and it really freaked me out. We got into a huge argument about it and he told me that he got it from masturbating too hard.. Apparently the friction can give you a blister on your penis. We called the Tela Health Ontario hot line and the nurse said it was possible. He told me that if I dragged him to the std clinic he would break up with me because it means I don't trust him. After that we didn't have sex, he started pushing me away wouldn't even shower with me.. wouldn't even let me see his penis and for sure I thought at the time he was cheating.. but now I know he was having a herpes break out and didn't want me to see. He was the only guy I have had intercourse with in the last 3 years... and a week ago I got diagnosed with genital herpes. I am very upset and scared and in a lot of pain. When you love someone and you're with them for that long you think it's safe to have unprotected sex.. but I guess you're not.. This is all new to me.. Everyone who has this disease.. I feel your pain. It is very painful and finding out you have an std is scary:(...
