I honestly don't know what to do...

My age shouldn't matter but, I'm going on 18 this month. the last time i had sex was 7 months ago, but just a week ago i had a pain in the inside my "area" i went to go look at it and it was a bump. thinking its a pimple i popped it, it popped and now is very sore and looks like a canker sore. i told my mom about it and she asked me if i have had sex recently. i haven't, so i don't know what this is. do i go into the doctor? or do i just try and let it heal...?
