Herpes is hard to detect in men
(WV)
I've been making love with my bf of 2 months, when I noticed he was grimacing as if in pain. He said it was from too much sex, but I believed that was the first sign. I never saw any rashes or other visible signs. He did have a sore throat. The weekend after we were making love, two days later I felt a sore near my anus and three pimples on the lips of my vulva. I told my bf that I thought I had Herpes and he said I was being ridiculous. Even though I told him that, we still had unprotected sex after. I'm wondering if he had it for a while and never realized what it was.
I got blood tests that confirmed that I had Herpes. I never cheated on him and I'm sure he gave it to me, but acts like he never knew he had it. The doctor said it is spread so easily by men because they never know they have it till they infect others because they attribute their soreness from jock itch, too much sex, sweating, etc. Sometimes all they get is one pimple.
I did check my bf with a flashlight, but he has so much hair its hard to see any rashes. Men are also clueless. They don't check themselves like a women would. I read that a man could have herpes inside his shaft and never know except for a little discomfort.
Women suffer more from it than a man. A man's herpes is mild compared to what a women has to endure. When a women is on her period, Herpes tends to flair up more.
