herpes at age 18

i was with the father of my child for over 2 years and he cheated on me with someone that has been around im not sure if he gave me the disease because as a result of him cheating i retaliated and had sex with another partner...shortly after i experienced bumps that were non painful still at the time being young i did not realize it was anything important about a year ago i had a blood test done and it came back positive for herpes type 2 i thought at that moment my world was ending i didn't understand why because i had never had an outbreak at least to my knowledge but as i thought back unto the time i had experienced those bumps i realized that it must have occurred around the time my child's father cheated on me and i retaliated since then i have had partners and no outbreaks and none of the recent partners have contracted the disease my doctor says it is very rare that i can pass the disease but it still bothers me from time to time especially when your serious about someone and have to tell them the truth even know you know your body.....best advice all ways get checked and your partner and use PROTECTION if your gonna do something dumb like i did!!! good luck
